Maui Reefs partners with businesses, foundations, and other organizations to solve the problems impacting our island’s reefs. Together, we work from mauka (the mountains) to makai (the ocean) to create lasting change.
We have a long history of working with a wide community base to conduct research, preventative, and restoration work across the island. From helping ranchers install deer fencing to mitigate erosion to collaborating with state agencies on coral restoration areas, our partnerships play an important role in protecting Maui’s natural ecosystems.
Founded by the late Native Hawaiian leader, Ed Lindsey, and marine biologist, Robin Newbold in 2007, Maui Nui Marine Resource Council has become a critical part of conservation efforts in Maui, noted for embracing innovative ideas and its collaborative approach. We are proud to partner with supporters who share the same vision and aloha for protecting the precious natural resources that make Maui nō ka ʻoi.
